Jersey's Mariana Agathangelou was beaten in the final of the women's doubles in the English National Badminton Championships.

Agathangelou, who had retired from professional badminton last year, joined up with her former partner Heather Olver for the tournament.

They had not dropped a game before losing to second seeds Lauren Smith and Gabrielle White 21-9, 21-9.

But Agathangelou says she will not be making a full-time comeback.

"A nice way to finish my competitive badminton career with Heather - FYI this was no way a come back and I won't be competing again... I hope," she tweeted., external
