England's Chris Adcock and Gabby White beat Olympic champions Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei of China to reach the final of the Hong Kong Open.

Adcock and White dominated to win 21-12 21-16 in 37 minutes.

Three recent meetings between the two pairs had all ended in defeat for the English world number seven seeds.

They now face either China's Cheng Liu and Bao Yixin or Hong Kong's Lee Chun Hei and Chau Hoi Wah in the final of the Superseries event on Sunday.

Victory in the final would make Adcock, 24, and 23-year-old White only the second English pairing to win on the Superseries circuit, following Nathan Robertson and Anthony Clark's men's doubles triumph in Singapore in 2009.

Zhang Nan and Zhao Yunlei became world champions in 2011, then claimed the Olympic gold medal with victory over compatriots Xu Chen and Ma Jin at London 2012.

Adcock later attempted to reach the final of the men's doubles with partner Andy Ellis, but lost out to Korea's Kim Ki Jung and Kim Sa Rang 21-13 21-14.
