In contrast it really hurts for the Mets and just about sums up their luck right now.

The first time they were behind tonight was when they were walking off the field having lost the game.

They move to seven defeats in a row and slide closer to the edge in the National League wildcard race.

  4. Delight for the Brewers as they aim for ten in a rowpublished at 22:20 British Summer Time 10 August

It's absolute delight for the Brewers as their superb season continues to gather pace.

There were some serious scenes when Collins hit that walk-off home run but a word also for William Contreras, whose two home runs kept the Brewers in it earlier.

They could make it a perfect ten wins in a row if they can get past the Pittsburgh Pirates tomorrow.

  5. WALK OFF HOME RUN! BREWERS WINpublished at 22:04 British Summer Time 10 August

And that is how it's done!

Isaac Collins smashes a solo home run to right field to win it for the Brewers.

Edwin Diaz allows a home run for the first time since April and the Mets lose a heartbreaker despite leading for eight innings.

    What a game!

  6. No joy for Metspublished at 22:02 British Summer Time 10 August

Nick Mears is in to pitch for Hall.

He walks Juan Soto in the ninth but gets out Francisco Alvarez, Francisco Lindor and Brandon Nimmo.

The Brewers have one last chance to win it.

  7. Brewers runners advancepublished at 21:48 British Summer Time 10 August

A pitching change for the Mets with Edwin Diaz in for Helsley.

Diaz immediately delivers a wild pitch and the runners advance.

The Brewers have men on second and third - can they complete the comeback here?

No. Anthony Siegler lines out to Alonso and we are going to a decisive ninth inning.

Danny Jansen then singles with a groundball to left and now the Brewers have runners on first and second and the tying run in scoring position.

  10. Hall keeps Brewers in touchpublished at 21:32 British Summer Time 10 August

DL Hall has pitched really well for the Brewers since coming in during the fifth inning.

The Mets haven't had a single hit since then and with two more strikeouts in the eighth Hall is keeping the Brewers in it.

  11. Double play saves Mets leadpublished at 21:24 British Summer Time 10 August

A vital double play for the Mets sees them maintain their lead.

The Brewers had Isaac Collins on third base after another hit for Contreras, but Andrew Vaughn grounds into a double play.

A missed chance for the Brewers to level it up.

For the first time we have a scoreless inning but we had to get all the way to the sixth to see it.

Jen Powal - the first female umpire to referee a Major League Baseball game in the regular season - is back in Atlanta this afternoon as the Braves take on the Miami Marlins.

Pawol, 48, made history as she oversaw first base during Saturday's game between the same two teams and today she is calling the strikes behind the mound.

She was welcomed to the pitch by cheers and a standing ovation.

Alonso is up to second, the Mets lead 6-3 and we have a pitching change for the Brewers as DL Hall comes in for Priester.

  20. Two more runs for the Brewerspublished at 20:24 British Summer Time 10 August

Joey Ortiz stays in it by fouling balls off and finally earns something to hit.

He knocks a ground ball past the shortstop and the runners are on their way.

Andruw Monastrerio and Danny Jansen score and the Brewers have cut the Mets lead to 5-3.
