Duran is in scoring position again as he flies around the bases for a double. He's among the quickest players in the game for a reason.

No added runs for the Red Sox though as Junk does well to strike out Masataka Yoshida. At the end of the sixth it's still 2-1.

  2. Postpublished at 19:49 British Summer Time 17 August

Derek Hill singles at the top of the sixth and then advances to third after Xavier Edwards grounds out and Agustin Ramirez is hit by a pitch.

But he's left stranded as Hernandez grounds into a force out at second. The Marlins miss the chance to level it up.

Unfortunately we have to wait until the beginning of October, and plenty can change before then!

Junk is also through five without any further damage.

Myers makes a routine catch from Carlos Narvaez to end the inning.

Crochet has recovered well from the third-inning home run.

He strikes out Joey Wiemer and Wagaman to finish off the Marlins in the fifth.

Abreu has 22 home runs for the season now - the most for the Red Sox.

Jason Junk will be really disappointed. It would have been some catch from Myers but he more or less looked like he had it in his glove.

  8. Home run Red Sox!published at 19:25 British Summer Time 17 August

The Red Sox take the lead after a remarkable home run from Wilyer Abreu.

He hits a high flyball to right field where Myers looks to make the catch. He grabs it but smashes into the wall and can't hold on to the ball, which just drops over.

Jarren Duran scores from third after he had stolen second base earlier in the inning.

2-1 Red Sox and Fenway Park is now very much alive.

  9. Postpublished at 19:18 British Summer Time 17 August

Quick work from Crochet in the fourth. Agustin Ramirez, Otto Lopez and Hernandez can't make anything happen.

Crochet is only through 44 pitches - he could still be here for a while.

  10. Postpublished at 19:11 British Summer Time 17 August

Abraham Toro singles for the Red Sox first hit of the afternoon.

He makes it round to third after Cedanne Rafaela and Carlos Narvaez both ground out, but he's left stranded as Wagaman makes a nice play to run out Roman Anthony.

    The Marlins stay one up.

  11. Home Run Marlins!published at 19:03 British Summer Time 17 August

The Marlins hit the front at Fenway Park as Eric Wagaman catches a fly ball out to centre field at the start of the third.

It's not quite out of the ground but that doesn't matter at Fenway. It's a home run!

Crochet manages to wrap things up quickly but the one mistake he's made so far was punished.

  12. Postpublished at 19:00 British Summer Time 17 August

Jason Junk is equally solid for the Marlins as he matches up with two catches and a strikeout to finish the second.

  13. Postpublished at 18:52 British Summer Time 17 August

Crochet is comfortable in the second inning too. He strikes out Heriberto Hernandez before forcing catches from Javier Sanoja and Dane Myers.

Jason Junk is also on point pitching for the Marlins in the first inning, striking out Jarren Duran to see off the opening three Red Sox batters.

Three up, three down for Crochet in the first inning.

It's hitting 33 degrees in Boston now - a good day to find some shade at Fenway.
