Leicester Riders' hard work paid off - Rob Paternostro

Leicester Riders coach Rob Paternostro says his side's progress into the play-off final is the culmination of four years of hard graft.

Riders eased to a 173-149 aggregate win over Glasgow Rocks in their semi-final last weekend to set up a final tie against Newcastle Eagles on Saturday.

Paternostro said: "When I arrived they were struggling with not many people watching but we have built this up.

"There are so many people who have been a part of it and it makes it special."

The in-form Cameron Rundles was once again the star man for Leicester, scoring 36 points as Riders romped to victory in the second leg at Loughborough on Sunday.

Riders trailed by one point after the first leg but were in superb form to ensure they will face Newcastle, who finished top of the BBL standings, in Birmingham on Saturday.

"What a day for Cameron, what a play-offs for Cameron and what a season from the day," Paternostro added.

"From the day he came here he has acted like a veteran, like he belonged and the performance was special to watch.

"To know we are going to a final with this special group feels great."
