GB coach pleased despite Greece loss

Great Britain's women suffered a 69-66 defeat against Greece at the Standard Life Invitational.

Britain beat Israel and Germany earlier in the weekend to enter the deciding match of the four-team event with confidence at Surrey Sports Park.

However, they were outscored by the Greeks by five points in the final quarter to miss out on the trophy.

The tournament acted as a warm-up for next month's EuroBasket Women's Championship in France.

Greece started the better of the two teams to lead by three points after the first quarter.

GB improved in the second quarter to lead 34-32 at half-time and maintained that gap in the third.

But the visitors crept ahead in the closing stages to snatch victory.
