GB slump to Czech EuroBasket defeat

Great Britain's hopes of reaching the women's EuroBasket 2013 quarter-finals in France hang in the balance following a 66-55 defeat by the Czech Republic.

Johanna Leedham stood out with 20 points, eight rebounds and six assists but Team GB struggled defensively.

They failed to cope with Michaela Zrustova's shooting as she registered a 20-point haul in an impressive display.

Despite the defeat in their opening Group F match of the second round, Team GB can still claim a last eight place.

They currently sit in the last remaining qualification place and next face games against the two sides around them in the standings, Croatia and Belarus.

"We have two more opportunities in this second round," said head coach Damian Jennings.

"We are not just here as tourists. We are a young basketball nation and we want to get very far so we are looking forward to the next two games."
