World Indoor Bowls: Katherine Rednall beats Julie Forrest for third straight title

Katherine Rednall has won a third successive world indoor title

Katherine Rednall recovered from losing the first set to beat Julie Forrest and win the World Indoor Bowls women's singles final for the third year running.

Scotland's Forrest took the first set 9-5 but England's Rednall responded by taking the second 12-5.

And Rednall won the tie-break 2-1 at Potter's Resort in Norfolk.

"That was probably the best final I've been part of," said six-time winner Rednall, 28, of Suffolk.

"Julie is an absolute class act. The first set Julie didn't give me a look in.

"I knew I had to do something. I was just pleased that I could give such a good final."

And 2024 mixed pairs champion Forrest said: "I knew Katherine would come back in the second set. I felt really in control in the first set. Probably one of the best games or finals we've had here for a long time.

"Probably the best week of my bowls career so far. I'll not get many more like this. Hats off to Katherine. She played absolutely fantastic."
