Guernsey’s Jason Greenslade has won the men’s singles at the World Bowls Indoor Championships.
Greenslade beat Malaysia's Izzat Shameer Dzulkeple 6-5, 9-3 in the final in front of a home crowd in Guernsey.
The former Wales international, who moved to Guernsey in 2022, came from three shots down in the final end to win the first set.
He lost a three-shot lead early in the second set before recovering to win 9-3 after six ends.
He is the first islander to win a singles title at the event - which has been held annually since 2022 - following on from Alison Merrien who won mixed pairs gold two years ago.
Earlier in the day Greenslade had beaten New Zealand’s 2018 outdoor World Champion of Champions, Shannon McIlroy, in a tiebreaker.
Having won the first set 5-2, Greenslade lost the second 4-3 before getting the winning shot with the final bowl to take the tiebreaker 1-0.
“It feels and it sounds absolutely fab,” Greenslade told BBC Radio Guernsey after the final.
“It has been lots of weeks and months of work, and to finally win it at home is like the icing on the cake.
“The first set was an edgy set, it could have gone either way.
“I played a perfect last end to hold a drawn set, expecting him to hit it, and he drew a wonder wood and it forced me to play the best shot of my life - it was the perfect weight and to hold the three is probably the reason won today.”
