British Lionhearts suffered a 5-0 defeat in their penultimate World Series of Boxing group match against German Eagles in Hannover.

Welshman Sean McGoldrick was outpointed 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Veaceslav Gojan, while Joe Cordina lost a unanimous decision to Artur Bril.

Kaupo Arro, Lawrence Osueke and Uaine Fa also came up short for what was an under-strength Lionhearts squad.

British Lionhearts have already qualified for the quarter-finals.

McGoldrick suffered with the pace set by the experienced Gojan who took all five rounds before Cordina suffered similar problems against Bril.

Stefan Hartel's slick counter-punching saw him outbox Estonian Arro before WSB debutant Osueke lost a closely contested bout with Xhek Paskali.

The Lionhearts' miserable night finished with Fa losing a points decision Emir Ahmatovic, despite leading after three rounds.

Their final group match will see them square off with Ukraine Otamans on 1 March in Bethnal Green's York Hall.

The strong Ukrainian outfit will bring reigning Olympic and world champions Vasyl Lomachenko and Oleksandr Usyk while London 2012 silver medallist Fred Evans will return for the home side.
