Nicola Adams, Savannah Marshall, Lisa Whiteside reach Euro finals

Britain's Savannah Marshall, Nicola Adams and Lisa Whiteside and Ireland's Katie Taylor reached their respective finals by unanimous points decisions at the European Union Championships.

Olympic flyweight champion Adams beat Poland's Sandra Drabik in Hungary.

World middleweight champion Marshall overcame Love Holgersson of Sweden and Whiteside beat France's Delphine Mancina to make the bantamweight final.

However, GB's Tasha Jonas lost a split decision to France's Estelle Mossely.

Wales' Lynsey Holdaway also had to settle for bronze as she too lost a split decision to Italy's Valeria Calabrese.

But Ireland's Leanne Murphy beat Croatia's Dainjela Vernic to reach Saturday's heavyweight final.

There was confusion at the end of the Jonas-Mossely fight as scorecards were handed back and forth, but eventually the decision went to the French fighter.

Jonas was gracious in defeat, but her corner were not happy with the outcome, though head coach Rob McCracken was diplomatic afterwards, saying it was a close fight.

After that controversial victory, Mossely will face Olympic champion Taylor in the lightweight final after the 27-year-old Ireland star saw off Finland's Mira Potkonen.

Leeds fighter Adams, 30, now faces Bulgarian Stoyka Petrova, who she beat at the quarter-final stage on the way to her historic gold at London 2012, in the final.

Marshall, 22, will take on Nouchka Mirielle Fountin of the Netherlands in Saturday's final, while 27-year-old Whiteside's final opponent will be Alice Sramkova of the Czech Republic.
