Manny Pacquiao says his hunger to win has returned for Saturday's super-fight with Floyd Mayweather.
The pair meet in boxing's richest ever bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
"I'm so happy because the feeling of the killer instinct and the focus that I had years ago is back," said Pacquiao, a six-weight world champion.
"I haven't felt like this in my recent few fights, but now I feel different. I'm eager to show something, especially because I'm the underdog."
Mayweather's father and trainer, Mayweather Sr, had suggested Pacquaio had never recovered from his surprise knock-out loss to Juan Manuel Marquez in 2012.
That was Pacquiao's fifth professional defeat from 64 fights, and had come after a split decision loss to Timothy Bradley Jr earlier in the same year.
The Filipino WBO welterweight champion is considered to have peaked throughout 2008 and 2009, when he recorded notable wins over Oscar De La Hoya, Ricky Hatton and Miguel Cotto.
"Every time I've been the underdog, like against Oscar De La Hoya, it's a different feeling and I'm so glad that it's back," said the 36-year-old.
"This is one of the most important fights for my boxing legacy. I want to make this fight for my boxing legacy. I want to win, that's my goal."
