Josh Taylor's unification world title fight with Regis Prograis has been confirmed for 26 October.

IBF light-welterweight world champion Taylor will face the WBA and interim WBC champion at the O2 Arena in London.

It had been reported that the unbeaten American Prograis, 30, was attempting to pull out after issues over payments with the World Boxing Super Series.

"I'm massively excited. I want to prove I'm the best in the division by taking on the best fighters," said Taylor, 28.

"Now it's finally over the line I can concentrate on getting to work in the gym and going full steam ahead again.

"I'm very confident that I can outbox him and outfight him as well, I can't see anything other than a Josh Taylor win."

Scotland's former three-weight world champion Ricky Burns will fight Welsh boxer Lee Selby on the undercard.

Burns lost his WBA super-lightweight title to IBF and IBO champion Julius Indongo in April 2017, then lost his next bout to Anthony Crolla.

But the 36-year-old recovered to beat Ivan Njegac and then Scott Cardle, taking his record to 43-7-1 and setting up the bout with Selby.
