These guys have a bigger opportunity than me. I fought for an interim world title, they are fighting for a legitimate world title. The winner of this title's life changes forever. They will be nervous, but they will be ready for it.

Nerves can work in your favour, Lewis needs to get close and when he gets close he needs to let his hands go and take risks. He is up against it, because Paddy is a master boxer, but I hope he can do it, but because it was so one-sided last time, I can't see past Donovan.

Predictions ahead of Crocker v Donovan 2

Carl Frampton - former two-weight champion: "It's hard to make a strong case for Crocker after the last time. There was a controversial ending but up until that point, Donovan seemed to be in control.

"I do know Crocker is a lot better than that performance but he will have to be on it, although I'm expecting a great fight."

Sunny Edwards - former world flyweight champion: "It was a controversial first fight. Donovan was the boss, let's pull no punches about that, but he has to clean up his act. Was he getting so much success because of the dark arts tactics? We're going to find out.

"They have been in the ring with each other, have spent all camp thinking about each other and we know Crocker's class too, as he can bang. I'm leaning towards a late Donovan KO but we'll see."

Ryan Burnett - former unified bantamweight world champion: "I can see it being very different than the first one. I can see Crocker being a lot more competitive as I don't think we saw the real Crocker first time around. That doesn't take anything away from Paddy as he is unbelievable. I think this is going to be much more exciting."

Jamie Moore - former fighter-turned coach: "It all depends on Paddy Donovan. For the majority of the fight last time he dictated it from the outside and he is capable of doing it again.

"If Crocker is a little bit smarter on the way in and doesn't give him much to play off, applies more pressure and doesn't work until her gets close, then he can have more success.

"The first two or three rounds will be really important and however it plays out, it will run down that path. I just feel Donovan will pick up where he left off, but if Crocker starts quicker, he's in with a chance."

Eddie Hearn - promoter: "I see Paddy as the favourite because of the first fight, but I think Crocker is very live and dangerous."

Katie Taylor - undisputed light-welterweight champion: "The last fight ended so controversially, the clash of styles between [Lewis] Crocker and [Paddy] Donovan is very interesting. I can't wait for it."

The noise has just been cranked up too. We are now in the final straight for tonight's world title fight. 'I Predict a Riot' blasts out, the crowd is urged to make more noise by the hype man. I don't think the 20,000 need much more encouragement.

  20. Donovan expecting 'the best' Crocker in title boutpublished at 22:09 BST 13 September

Paddy Donovan insists he is not taking "anything for granted" as he prepares to face Lewis Crocker for the vacant IBF welterweight title tonight.

Donovan was disqualified in their first fight back in March for punching after the bell when ahead on all three scorecards, having already been deducted points for fouls earlier in the contest.

His performance that night has led to him being installed as a heavy favourite for this rematch and the Limerick man has exuded confidence all week.

However, he is not downplaying the task ahead and is expecting a much improved performance from Belfast's Crocker on a night when two fighters from the island of Ireland will contest a world title for the first time.

"It's a world title fight and Crocker is still in with a big chance," said the 26-year-old southpaw.

"Any fighter in a world title fight is going to give it his all, so I will expect the best Lewis Crocker and the strongest Lewis Crocker, but the best Paddy Donovan.

"I don't think he is the same fighter or has the same confidence he had in the first fight, but I can't take anything for granted. All that matters is Saturday night."
