Kent 142-5 (19.2 overs) beat Glamorgan 138-6 (20 overs) by five wickets

A quickfire 57-run partnership between Sam Northeast and Geraint Jones guided Kent to victory against Glamorgan.

The visitors posted 138-6 from their 20 overs as skipper Alviro Peterson top-scored with 33 from 23 deliveries.

The game appeared to be slipping away from Kent when Northeast and Jones came together with their score on 88-5 in the 14th over.

But Northeast's 39 from 25 balls and Jones' 30 from 22 saw Kent reach 142-5 with four balls to spare.

POST-MATCH REACTION

BBC Wales Cricket correspondent Edward Bevan:

"Glamorgan's hopes of qualifying for the quarter-finals now look remote after this latest defeat, which again went to the final over.

"They made 138 for 6 with Alviro Petersen top-scoring with 33. But that total was under par despite the slow pitch.

"Glamorgan's bowlers, without the injured Graham Wagg, responded well - Robert Croft taking 3 for 27, Simon Jones 1 for 17 from three overs and two balls.

"But Geraint Jones and Sam Northeast shared a match-winning partnership of 57, which included 19 from the 18th over bowled by Jim Allenby, to give Kent a win by five wickets."
