Trott top-scored for England with 98 not out in the third one-day international

Jonathan Trott says England do not have to change their on-field behaviour despite criticism from India captain Mahendra Dhoni.

Dhoni accused England of in-fighting during the third one-dayer in Mohali, while Tim Bresnan was fined £250 for showing dissent to an umpire.

"I think we go about it the right way," said batsman Trott.

"It's all in the heat of the moment, we respect each other as cricketers and as individuals."

England, who were unbeaten against India across the three formats of the game during the summer, have struggled on their limited-overs tour of the subcontinent, losing all three games of the five-match one-day series to date.

The latest defeat came as the home side chased down 299 for victory, aided by poor English bowling and fielding.

"We haven't had any official warnings, or anything like that," added Trott.

"The guys get on really well. Sometimes, it comes across a little bit differently on TV to what it actually is on the field.

"We try to get the best out of each other and are determined. The guys want to win.

"It's not a social cricket match, it's very serious."

The remaining games in the series take place in Mumbai on Sunday and Kolkata on Tuesday, with a Twenty20 international - also in Kolkata - next Saturday.
