Warwickshire pace bowler Chris Woakes has signed a two-year extension to his contract, committed him to the club until the end of the 2014 season.
The 22-year-old England limited overs player has 223 first-class wickets and a batting average of 33.36.
Birmingham-born Woakes said: "Warwickshire is my home county and I'm thrilled to be able to extend my stay here at Edgbaston.
"We're in great position to make a strong challenge for trophies in 2012."
Woakes, who has four centuries to his name, made his first-class debut in 2006 for Warwickshire against West Indies A.
He has played four one-day internationals and three Twenty20 games for England and will be hoping to be involved in the limited overs section of the forthcoming series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates, which begins in February.
Warwickshire director of cricket Ashley Giles said: "Despite his success over the past few seasons, as a 22 year-old we certainly expect his best days to be ahead of him.
"Everyone here at Warwickshire is obviously very pleased that those years will be spent here at Edgbaston.
"Since graduating from the club's academy, Chris has gone on to lead the attack here at Edgbaston and establish himself as one of the country's leading fast bowlers."
Woakes is one of 30 cricketers since 1997 to have played for a Warwickshire youth team before progressing to a career in the first-class game.
