Warwickshire: Dougie Brown keen to succeed Ashley Giles

Warwickshire assistant coach Dougie Brown has put himself in the frame to succeed Ashley Giles as the Bears' new director of cricket.
Giles revealed two weeks ago that he was leaving Edgbaston to become England's limited-overs coach.
Scotsman Brown, who played with Giles in Warwickshire's successful side of the 1990s as well as in England's one-day team, believes in continuity.
"It is a help I have worked in this environment for a long time," he said.
"I understand what it entails and the dynamics of the team. It is a settled dressing room, with a great work ethic.
More importantly, Brown already has a strong rapport with bowling coach Graeme Welch, another former Warwickshire favourite, who played a key role in helping to bring the Bears their seventh county title this summer.
The pair also have the backing of captain Jim Troughton, who told BBC WM that they would have the support of the Warwickshire dressing room.
"It will be a big challenge for whoever takes over," added Brown. "Ash has done so much during the past five years at Warwickshire and following him will be tough.
"But Warwickshire's loss is England's gain. It is a great chance for him. He thoroughly deserves it.
"I am sure there will be a number of strong candidates for what is a very attractive post,
"But I have a bit of experience and I will be putting my hat in the ring for the director of cricket role,"
The county have advertised the role, with a closing date for applications of 17 December.
