Derbyshire celebrate promotion

Derbyshire have recorded a profit for the sixth time in seven years following their promotion to Division One.

The club announced a surplus of £23,310 for 2012, despite key fixtures such as the Twenty20 game with Nottinghamshire being decimated by rain.

Chairman Chris Grant said: "Posting a profit for the second successive year is an excellent achievement.

"We are embarking upon an exciting period both on and off the field with no debt and a sound financial footing."

Grant added: "Success on the field is our ultimate priority but that is dependent on continued success, growth and ambition behind the scenes."
