Glamorgan have signed Australian left-arm seam bowler Dirk Nannes for their 2013 Twenty20 campaign.

Twenty20 specialist Nannes, 36, joins following a stint at Sylhet in Bangladesh's Premier League.

He has played 15 times for Australia's T20 team and will be Glamorgan's second overseas player in the competition.

Nannes joins fellow Australian Marcus North as an overseas player, with the latter also leading Glamorgan in the T20 and 40-over competitions.

The county's latest signing provides an added option of a strike bowler towards the end of an innings.

"I am looking forward to coming over to Wales and playing for Glamorgan this summer," Nannes told the club website., external

"I really enjoy Twenty20 cricket and I've enjoyed spells in county cricket with English teams before [with Middlesex and Surrey] and around the world.

"I'd like to think I can share my experience with the lads and be someone who can take crucial wickets for the team."
