Nottinghamshire's Graeme White to join Northants on loan

Northants have re-signed all-rounder Graeme White on a one-month loan deal from Nottinghamshire.

The 26-year-old, who left Wantage Road in 2009, has played most of his cricket this season for Notts' second XI and will join Northants on 10 June.

White will be available for the Championship matches against Leicestershire and Lancashire.

And he could also feature in the FL t20 games against Gloucestershire, Warwickshire and Somerset.

A condition of his loan is that he does not play in the YB40 competition because the two clubs are in the same group.

"Graeme wants to play four-day cricket and his chances are going to be limited at Trent Bridge," said Nottinghamshire director of cricket Mick Newell.

"That said, he may well get opportunities in away games which is why we're allowing him to play for Northants when we've got matches at Trent Bridge.

"He's a key player for us in limited-overs cricket and he will continue to play for us in the Yorkshire Bank 40 during his loan period."

Northants failed to complete a deal for Moises Henriques to play in this year's T20 because the Australia all-rounder was only free for five fixtures.

And spinner Con de Lange is currently out of action after retiring hurt in their second XI match against Somerset earlier this month with an Achilles injury.

"It's very disappointing for Con," Northants captain Stephen Peters told BBC Radio Northampton.

"It's not quite as bad as first thought but it's still a long lay off, and he's certainly going to be out for another month.

"If we need left-arm spin, particularly looking at a couple of four-day games we have - both with turning pitches potentially - we wanted the option there.

"Graeme knows all the lads in the dressing room, we get on well with him and hopefully we're getting back an even better cricketer on loan than before."
