Kent v Glamorgan: Hosts fight back after first-innings collapse

Rob Key and Brendan Nash led a Kent fightback on day three at Canterbury.

Resuming on 73-4, Michael Hogan took 3-42 as Glamorgan skittled the hosts for 135, leaving the Welsh side with a first-innings lead of 243.

Having been made to follow on, Key (85) and Sam Northeast (33) shared 75 for the first wicket.

Daniel Bell-Drummond went cheaply but Key put on 95 with Nash (50), before both fell in quick succession as Kent closed on 254-4, a lead of 11.

Daniel Stevens (35 not out) and Ben Harmison (23 not out) safely negotiated the final 15 overs of play to leave the home side with a fighting chance going into the final day.

"Kent supporters may be surprised that this game will go into a fourth day, having seen their side bowled out cheaply before lunch in overcast conditions.

"However, the weather turned and glorious sunshine and blue skies changed batting conditions, allowing Northeast and Key to get Kent away well as they chased 243 to make Glamorgan bat again.

"Key and Nash racked up 95 for the third wicket and Kent's spirits, as well as their total, were lifted."
