Northants make offer to re-sign Trent Copeland

Northants have bid to re-sign bowler Trent Copeland for the season's final three County Championship matches.

The Australian seamer took 27 wickets in six Division Two matches earlier this season, including best figures of 9-92 in a victory over Worcestershire.

His departure was due to a troublesome ankle injury as his home side New South Wales were keen to assess him.

Since losing Copeland, Northants have not won in the Championship, although they remain top of the table.
