Matthew Mott says Glamorgan will not be getting carried away after recording their fourth consecutive Friends Life t20 win.
The Welsh county thrashed Somerset by nine wickets in front of a 9,000 crowd in Cardiff to maintain their perfect start to the tournament.
"You couldn't hope for much more," said head of elite performance Mott.
"But we've got a lot of cricket coming up, so we don't want to be celebrating that too hard."
Glamorgan's bowlers restricted fancied Somerset to 125-6 in their 20 overs before Mark Wallace (30), Jim Allenby (47 not out) and Chris Cooke (42no) steered the hosts home with 4.4 overs to spare.
And on a sweltering night, the match drew by far the biggest crowd of the season for a Glamorgan match at the Swalec Stadium.
"It's good to have nights like this when people get to see that we've actually made some improvement," said Mott.
That improvement leaves the Welsh side top of the Wales and Midland Group in the Twenty20 competition, with their next match at Northamptonshire on Sunday, 14 July.
"It wasn't too hard to improve I think, we've been honest over the past couple of years that we haven't been where we want to be," said Mott.
"It's just a shame that our [LV= County] Championship cricket hasn't shown what we've done.
"In championship cricket we've made a lot of strides, but the beauty of the one-day and t20 format is you get a result if you play good cricket."
However, even with four wins out of four, Mott is keen to keep his players grounded, with six group stage matches remaining.
"We've made good strides, but we've still got improving to do. We're not anywhere near what we should be yet, but it's encouraging," he said.
"We're not really thinking past that next game and it's so true, we're already talking about our team for the [Northamptonshire] match and it's just really important we don't get too carried away with this.
"In Twenty20 you can sometimes blow teams away and you can think that you're fine, and then you're the one on the receiving end in the next game.
"So we've got to keep maintaining those standards and trying to improve them if we can."
