Hampshire have signed all-rounder Matt Coles on loan from Kent until the end of the season.

The 23-year-old will join in time for their County Championship match against Lancashire, which starts on Wednesday.

The right-handed seam bowler and left-handed batsman will be available for all first-class matches until the end of the season.

"I'm delighted to be joining Hampshire for the remainder of the 2013 season," said Coles.

"I have played against and alongside many of the guys in the team and look forward to a very productive time at The Ageas Bowl."

Coles has represented England Lions and taken 133 wickets in 50 first-class matches at an average of 30.67, including five four-wicket hauls and five five-wicket hauls.

He has scored one first-class century and four half centuries and declined a new contract at Canterbury last week.
