Leicestershire all-rounder‎ Shiv Thakor will miss the first three months of the county season after having to undergo a second operation on a broken finger.

He was injured on the England Under-19 tour of South Africa in January 2013, but played through the domestic season.

The 20-year-old had surgery over the winter, but the bone failed to reset properly, forcing a second operation.

Director of cricket Phil Whitticase said: "We're really disappointed but it is important the injury is sorted out."
