Eoin Morgan: England confidence restored for World Twenty20

Eoin Morgan says England will head to the World Twenty20 with renewed confidence after ending their tour of the West Indies with a win.

England lost the T20 series 2-1 but beat the reigning World T20 champions by five runs in the final match in Barbados.

They face New Zealand in their opening game in Bangladesh on 22 March.

"Turning over a side like West Indies will give us a lot of confidence," vice-captain Morgan told BBC Sport.

Morgan, who led England in the absence of the injured Stuart Broad, claims England are moving in the right direction.

"Against such a good side, particularly on home soil, our guys showed a lot of character," he said.

"We've shown a lot of progress from the last two games, which was great to see."

Sussex's Chris Jordan, born in Barbados and playing his second T20 international, made an unbeaten 27 from nine balls as his four sixes off the last over helped England to 160-7.

He then claimed 3-39 and a stunning one-handed catch on the boundary to account for Dwayne Bravo.

"Chris coming in and striking the ball that well at the end is certainly an attribute we need going to Bangladesh," said Morgan.

"He would have been a nervous guy coming into today's game. To get off to a start like that will have given him plenty of confidence.

"It was an outstanding effort, right from the time he walked out to the crease to the last ball he bowled."
