Graham Onions: Back problem to be assessed by Durham
- Published
England seamer Graham Onions will be assessed by a specialist after a back problem forced him out of Durham's game against Sussex at Hove.
Onions, 31, has 11 wickets this season and was the leading bowler in the 2013 title winning campaign with 70 Championship victims.
"I'd be surprised if he bowled again in this match," Durham coach Jon Lewis told BBC Newcastle.
"He'll see a specialist when we get back to the north east."
The main concern for Durham would be a repeat of the back injury that ruled the Gateshead-born pace bowler out of the entire 2010 season,, external including England's Ashes series in Australia.
