Glamorgan: Coach Toby Radford 'very frustrated' by Essex defeat

Glamorgan coach Toby Radford says his side should have won their Twenty20 match against Essex.

The Welsh county slumped to their first defeat of the season in the T20 Blast despite setting the home side a target of 190 at Chelmsford.

But Essex batsman James Foster hit 24 in one over as the Eagles fought back to win.

"I'm very frustrated... it should have been two wins out of two," said Radford.

The Glamorgan coach praised the performance of his batsmen, who had put his side in a strong position to follow up their victory against Hampshire.

"I thought we posted a really good score," said Radford.

"If you score 189, 99 times out of 100 you win those games.

"We'll be very disappointed tonight that we couldn't defend that with the ball."

Graham Wagg missed the defeat to Essex due to injury.

Radford said Wagg's absence was not the reason for the defeat and he expects the all-rounder to be back in action soon.

"We missed Waggy [Graham Wagg] but we still had enough quality bowlers out there," said Radford.

"He bowled a lot of overs at the start of this year, got a bit of a groin strain.

"But all being well he'll be fit for next week."

Glamorgan's next match is against Leicestershire on Sunday in Cardiff in the County Championship.
