Craig Kieswetter: Somerset wicketkeeper signs new deal

Kieswetter was top scorer in the Twenty20 last season with 517 runs

Wicketkeeper-batsman Craig Kieswetter has signed a new three-year deal with Somerset to keep him with the county until the end of the 2017 season.

Born in South Africa and educated in Somerset, Kieswetter has been part of the first-team at Taunton since 2007.

He has played 46 one-day internationals and 25 T20 internationals for England, and has scored 5,610 first-class runs.

"I love playing for Somerset. It's my home and I am so excited about the next three years," said the 26-year-old.

"I have had plenty of ups and downs throughout my professional and international career, but there is always one factor that remains a complete positive for me - and that is being part of this club."

Kieswetter lost his place as England's limited-overs wicketkeeper to former county team-mate Jos Buttler in 2013, but was recalled for the World Twenty20 squad in March as injury cover.

He finished top run scorer in the domestic Twenty20 for Somerset last season with 517, and remains in the same position after scoring 398 runs in eight matches so far this term.
