Birmingham Bears 160-6 (20 overs) beat Leicestershire Foxes 108 (19.5 overs) by 52 runs

Varun Chopra's sparkling half-century helped Birmingham Bears snatch a T20 Blast quarter-final spot with a 52-run win over Leicestershire.

The Bears will now travel to Essex after Nottinghamshire beat Yorkshire.

Chopra's 72 from 57 balls, including a six and six fours, was the highlight of Birmingham's 160-6 and he put on 50 with William Porterfield (28).

The visitors slumped to 27-4 in the sixth over and, despite Matthew Boyce's 41, they were dismissed for 108.

Birmingham's Varun Chopra:

"We had a chat about not paying any attention to Nottinghamshire, then the score was announced every five overs on the scoreboard, so that proved somewhat difficult, but luckily we heard what we wanted to hear.

"We played very well. Obviously we had a lot to play for, Leicestershire not so much, and once we got up and running we were always in a strong position."
