Kent 3 pts, Gloucestershire 3 pts

Will Tavare hit a century as Gloucestershire fought back well to build a lead on day two against Kent.

Kent began on 83-4 but toiled as Sam Billings (73) ran out of partners in face of tight bowling from the visitors, eventually totalling 164.

Gloucestershire look glorious against Kent

Gloucestershire have lost only one of their last eight County Championship games against Kent, of which they have won four and drawn three.

Chris Dent (47) combined with Tavare for a century opening stand before he fell to David Griffiths (2-28).

After Gareth Roderick was out, Tavare (101 not out) and Alex Gidman (46 not out) scored freely to end on 208-2.

The unbeaten partnership of 102 between Tavare and Gidman completed a fantastic day for Gloucestershire, who will look to build on their lead of 223 runs.

BBC Radio Gloucestershire's Bob Hunt:

"With the departure of the Gidman brothers it will be important that Gloucestershire's younger players perform next year and Will Tavare's fourth hundred of the season will give hope.

"He reached 1000 runs for the season, his first, when he reached 91 and he will want to help build a big lead on the third day."
