Agathangelou hit one first-class century during his four years at Lancashire

Lancashire batsman Andrea Agathangelou has announced he is to leave the county ahead of next season.

The 24-year-old made a statement on his Twitter account, external after making just six appearances in the Championship this season, as the Red Rose were relegated.

Agathangelou, who was born in South Africa, but takes his Cypriot nationality from his father, helped the club to the Division Two title in 2013.

"Sad my days at Lancashire have come to an end," said Agathangelou.

"The past five years in Manchester have been incredible. Thank you to Lancashire and everyone involved in my journey.

"I will see most of you on the playing field very soon."
