Teenage Sussex all-rounder Fynn Hudson-Prentice has signed a professional contract with the club.
The 18-year-old, who has come through the club's academy, made his senior debut in the One-Day Cup match against Glamorgan in August.
"I am aware that the hard work starts now," he said.
"I am delighted that Sussex have given me the opportunity to start the journey of what will hopefully be a long and successful career."
Hudson-Prentice has been a regular in Sussex's second XI over the past two seasons and hit two unbeaten centuries in the latter part of last campaign.
"It is always fantastic when a young home-grown player joins our professional staff," Sussex performance manager Keith Greenfield said.
"He fully deserves his opportunity, but this is an exciting opportunity for him to forge a long and fruitful career with the club he loves."
Sussex have not disclosed the length of Hudson-Prentice's deal at Hove.
