England captain Alastair Cook was left frustrated as rain forced plays to be abandoned in Colombo

England's second and final warm-up match of their tour of Sri Lanka was abandoned without a ball bowled after heavy morning rain in Colombo.

With the P Sara Oval outfield saturated an hour after the scheduled start, the match with Sri Lanka A was called off at about 1.10pm local time (07:40 GMT).

The tourists won their first warm-up on Friday - which was also rain-affected - via the Duckworth-Lewis method.

The seven-match one-day international series begins on Wednesday.

Five of the seven games - including the first two at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo - have provision for reserve days in case of inclement weather.
