Gloucestershire aiming to appoint head coach by end of January

John Bracewell first took charge in 1999 and, after a spell back in his native New Zealand, returned for the second time in 2009

Gloucestershire have said they could appoint a head coach to succeed John Bracewell by the time the director of cricket leaves his post.

The New Zealander, 56, will leave the county side, who he led to the 2002 Division Two title, on 31 January.

Chief executive Will Brown said interviews will start next week.

"I am really pleased with the response we've had and I am confident that the right person is out there," Brown told the club website.

"We hope to be able to announce our new head coach by the end of the month."

Bracewell also led Gloucestershire to five one-day trophies during his time at the helm.
