Worcestershire were bowled out for just 100 in their second innings as champions Yorkshire sealed a 10-wicket victory inside three days at New Road.

Resuming on 298-9, Tim Bresnan was removed early by Gareth Andrew (5-85) for 83 as Yorkshire made 307 all out.

Jack Brooks then ripped through the hosts' top order with 4-28, while Steven Patterson skittled the tail with 5-11, his best first-class figures.

Captain Alex Lees (52no) helped his side chase down 105 in just 17 overs.

The win for the reigning champions capped a remarkable turnaround from midway through day two when they were wobbling on 193-7, still 118 runs adrift of Worcestershire's first innings total.

The change in fortunes was started by Bresnan, who began the day unbeaten on 78, batting alongside the injured Ryan Sidebottom.

Bresnan square cut Jack Shantry to the boundary in the first over to take the Tykes past 300 and earn a third batting bonus point, before edging Andrew to Tom Fell at slip shortly after.

With New Road bathed in sunshine, conditions appeared to be ideal for the batsmen, but former Northamptonshire man Brooks had other ideas, removing skipper Daryl Mitchell, Moeen Ali and Alex Gidman cheaply as the hosts slumped to 21-4.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore and first-innings centurion Fell steadied the ship briefly, before Patterson had Fell (14) caught at first slip and trapped Ben Cox lbw for nought in the space of five balls.

Brooks returned to dismiss Kohler-Cadmore for 24, on his way to his best-ever match figures of 9-84, and Patterson cleaned up the tail as Worcestershire lost their last three wickets for 10 runs.

Requiring just 105 for victory, Lees and Will Rhodes (45 not out) took the attack to Worcestershire's demoralised bowlers as they chased down the total before tea.

Yorkshire coach Jason Gillespie: "(The England and Wales Cricket Board) took away a lot of players, banned our captain and still we came away with a 10-wicket win.

"It is one of the best wins I have ever been involved in.

"I was pleased with the way we bowled in the first innings, there were just little periods where we let them off the hook, but in the second innings Jack Brooks was fantastic."

Worcestershire director of cricket Steve Rhodes: "That first session today cost us dearly but sometimes you have to take your hat off to the opposition.

"It was world-class Test-match bowling to be honest from Bresnan and Brooks.

"That could have destroyed a lot of batting line-ups."
