Andy Carter led a fine bowling effort by Glamorgan as they seized the upper hand on day two against Derbyshire.
Carter claimed 4-53 to help bowl the visitors out for 205, with Graeme Wagg (3-56) providing the main support.
Opener Ben Slater made 53 before edging a ball from Carter to Mark Wallace, but Scott Elstone (48) was the only other batsman to pass 20 in the innings.
Glamorgan then reached 84-2 at stumps, with skipper Jacques Rudolph making 43, before bad light ended play early.
Rudolph was dropped twice - at third slip and gully - off Ben Cotton. But he finally fell lbw to medium-pacer Shiv Thakor after an opening stand of 62 with James Kettleborough, either side of a previous weather interruption.
And Thakor then bowled Kettleborough (17) during an excellent seven-over spell of 2-11.
The loss of all but 15 overs on the opening day because of rain means the onus is now on Glamorgan's batsmen to try and build a big lead on the third day in the hope that their attack can then run through Derbyshire a second time.
Glamorgan pace bowler Michael Hogan told BBC Wales Sport:
"It's pleasing to get through a day, I was a bit disappointed with the way I bowled, but happy to finish the day.
"I expected [signs of rustiness] but it was good to get a couple of wickets - probably not the best I've taken, but hopefully onwards and upwards.
"I haven't seen the weather forecast, but you can't do much about it, we'll just turn up ready to play and see what happens."
