Kent ended day two with a 77-run lead over Glamorgan despite a spirited century from batsman Will Bragg.

The hosts added just 27 runs to their overnight total to reach 357 as Michael Hogan (5-71) bowled Matt Coles for 25.

Glamorgan then struggled against the Kent seam attack as only Bragg's 104 and 45 off 56 balls from David Lloyd helped Glamorgan to 281 all out.

Coles, Darren Stevens and Ivan Thomas took three wickets each before Kent to reached 1-0 at stumps.

Bragg benefitted from a dropped slip catch with his side on 54-3 and batted for 72 of the 84 overs his side faced, hitting 12 fours to reach his second Championship hundred of the season.

Lloyd also struck nine fours in his innings, but Kent's bowling attack ensured their side would have a first-innings lead, before nightwatchman James Tredwell safely negotiated the final over before close.

Kent bowler Ivan Thomas:

"These are my first matches back after a long spell sidelined through injury, so by talking with Mark I've been able to manage my game plan better and just relax a little more.

"I felt my first wicket, the one that got Kettleborough leg before was my best wicket of the three. It went through the air, back into the right hander.

"I held the ball the other way around, which is something I've been working on, so that was really satisfying."

Glamorgan batsman Will Bragg told BBC Sport:

"As the ball got softer the conditions got a bit easier to bat in.

"There's plenty in the wicket with the newer ball, so perhaps we didn't hit our straps with the ball on day one and they got 50 to 60 runs too many.

"But we're still in the game and we're set up for an exciting finish. I'd look to chase anything up to 300, if we can get some early wickets in the morning."
