T20 Blast, The Oval

Glamorgan 240 for 3 (20.0 overs)

Surrey 215 all out (19.3 overs)

Glamorgan won by 25 runs

Glamorgan recorded their highest Twenty20 total as they beat Surrey by 25 runs at the Oval in their opening game of the T20 Blast South Group.

Colin Ingram struck six of the night's 26 sixes as his superb 91 from 47 balls spearheaded Glamorgan's 240-3, helped by Jacques Rudolph's 62 from 39 balls.

Steven Davies hit five sixes and three fours in his 58 from 32 balls and Kumar Sangakkara's 37 came off only 17 balls.

Zafar Ansari - who, with wickets falling around him - hit a brave 67 not out from 32 balls but his efforts proved in vain as Surrey, last year's semi-finalists, still finished well short.

Glamorgan's total was the highest in T20 cricket at the Oval, while Surrey's spirited reply meant the aggregate of runs scored was the highest in an English domestic Twenty20 match.

The Welsh county's formidable total was built around the spectacular second-wicket stand between Ingram and Rudolph, and finished off in considerable style when Chris Cooke smashed four sixes off 19 balls to finish on 46 not out.

Glamorgan squad: Will Bragg, Ruaidhri Smith, Jacques Rudolph, Mark Wallace, Colin Ingram, Ben Wright, Chris Cooke, Craig Meschede, David Lloyd, Andrew Salter, Graham Wagg, Dean Cosker, Michael Hogan.

Surrey squad: Gareth Batty, Zafar Ansari, James Burke, Rory Burns, Tom Curran, Steven Davies, Matthew Dunn, Ben Foakes, Aneesh Kapil, Wahab Riaz, Jason Roy, Kumar Sangakkara, Vikram Solanki, Gary Wilson.
