Leicestershire have signed former Lancashire batsman Andrea Agathangelou until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old, who has also played for North West in South Africa, has been on trial at Grace Road.
Agathangelou, who has scored 2,549 first-class runs in 47 matches, hit 163 not out for the Foxes' second XI against Afghanistan, external this week.
He has been named in the county's 13-man squad for their County Championship game with Essex, starting on Sunday.
Head coach Andrew McDonald said: "We'd like to welcome Andrea on board. He is a good individual who caught our eye in the second XI this week with an outstanding performance.
"Andrea has plenty of first-class experience in this country having been at Lancashire for a number of years."
