Women's Ashes: Australia include three potential Test debutants
- Published
Australia's squad for this summer's Women's Ashes in England includes three potential Test debutants.
Leg-spinner Kristen Beams, who has never faced England, opener Nicole Bolton and all-rounder Jess Jonassen are all uncapped at Test level.
The multi-format series, featuring three one-day internationals, a Test and three Twenty20 matches, starts with an ODI at Taunton on 21 July.
England hold the Ashes after winning 10-8 on points down under in 2014.
The Southern Stars, captained by Meg Lanning, will retain 13 of the 14-strong squad for all three formats, with left-hander Bolton - who hit a century against England on her ODI debut in Melbourne during the last Ashes - replaced by all-rounder Delissa Kimmince for the T20 internationals.
Teenage pace bowler Holly Ferling, out of international cricket for over a year because of injury, is fit again, leaving the tourists, now coached by ex-Glamorgan coach Matthew Mott, at full strength.
Australia squad for Women's Ashes: Meg Lanning (capt), Alex Blackwell (vice-capt), Kristen Beams, Nicole Bolton (Test and ODIs only), Jess Cameron, Sarah Coyte, Rene Farrell, Holly Ferling, Alyssa Healy (wk), Jess Jonassen, Delissa Kimmince (T20 internationals only), Erin Osborne, Ellyse Perry, Megan Schutt, Elyse Villani.
BBC Radio will have commentary on all matches of the Women's Ashes series.
