Scotland beat Ireland at Bready to seal T20 series win

Kevin O'Brien scored a six and two fours in his score of 36 off 28 balls

Scotland beat Ireland by six wickets in the postponed second T20 match between the sides at Bready to secure a series victory with one game still remaining.

The fixture had been scheduled to take place on Friday but was abandoned because of heavy rain at the venue.

Ireland made 166-6 in their 20 overs, with Kevin O'Brien and Andrew Poynter joint top-scorers with 36 runs.

Scotland reached 167-4 with 11 balls to spare, Matt Cross hitting 48 off 30 balls and Preston Mommsen 47 not out.

The Scots won Thursday's opener by six wickets with Ireland making 146-5 before a quickfire 60 from Cross helped the visitors to victory.

The teams will meet again at Bready on Sunday in the final match of the contest.

Batting first, Ireland's cause was also helped by a 31 from Andrew Balbirnie, while Safyaan Sharif was the pick of the Scotland bowlers with 2-26.

The Scots were in trouble at 1-1 early in their innings after opener George Munsey was bowled for a duck by Tyrone Kane.

A second-wicket partnership of 73 by Kyle Coetzer (34) and wicket-keeper Cross set them back on track for victory however.

Spinner George Dockrell ended with figures of 3-21.
