All-rounder Graham Wagg has been included in Glamorgan's 13-man squad for the Championship match against Derbyshire.
Wagg missed Friday's T20 Blast victory over Hampshire with a side strain.
"Wagg has played such a big part in our Championship cricket this year so it's a hugely important we try and get him in," head coach Toby Radford said.
Batsman Chris Cooke misses the Division Two Championship match at Chesterfield for family reasons.
England under-19 player Aneurin Donald is in contention for a first appearance of the season with Dean Cosker along with David Lloyd and Ruaidhri Smith also pressing for a place.
"Aneurin is back with us full-time now, and he's pretty much hit the ground running getting a century under his belt last week," Radford added.
"We'd love to see him get an opportunity, whether it is this game or one of the games coming up, to add to what he did when he came in last year when he scored fifty against Hampshire."
Glamorgan are bidding for a fifth consecutive Championship win for the first time in the county's history after a run of victories taking them to third place in Division Two.
