Mark Cosgrove's century helped Leicestershire past 300 for the first time since the start of May as they shared an even day with Derbyshire.

The away side were bowled out early on day two at Grace Road for 345, as Wayne Masden finished 172 not out.

Cosgrove then shared a 97-run fifth-wicket partnership with Niall O'Brien (60) after the hosts fell to 110-4.

Mark Footitt's continued to impress taking 4-49, as Leicestershire closed on 304-8, trailing by 41 runs.

The fast bowler has now taken 54 Championship wickets so far this season, 31 more then Tony Palladino who has taken the second most for Derbyshire.
