Jamie Holmes scored 54 for Northern Knights against Leinster at Stormont

The three-day inter-provincial between Northern Knights and Leinster Lightning ended in a draw at Stormont.

Leinster led by five runs at the start of the day but from 19-1 overnight were soon in trouble at 78-7.

The Knights had an opportunity to snatch a rare win over the holders as their opponents were only 64 runs ahead with three wickets in hand.

Experienced pair Andrew Poynter and George Dockrell knuckled down for the next 30 overs with just 39 runs added.
