Ireland beat Scotland by seven wickets in a T20 match to build an unassailable 3-1 lead in the multi-format series between the sides.

Darcey Carter was the standout performer with the bat for Scotland, making 45 off 55 balls as her side were all out for 91 off 18.4 overs.

Alana Dalzell, Cara Murray and Laura Delany took two wickets apiece.

Ireland reached 92-3 with 21 balls of their innings to spare, with top-scorer Gaby Lewis hitting an unbeaten 53.

Opener Lewis smashed seven fours as she accumulated her total off 51 balls in Almeria, Spain, on Monday.

Amy Hunter was out for 10 in the fifth over off the bowling of Olivia Bell, who also claimed the wicket of Orla Prendergast for one to leave Ireland 29-2.

A third-wicket partnership of 62 between Lewis and captain Delany got Ireland back on track, the latter falling lbw to Priyanaz Chatterji after contributing 25 off 28 balls.

Megan McColl with 19 was the only other Scottish batter to make double figures as her side's total proved insufficient.

Ireland won two of the three ODI matches and now have an unassailable 3-1 lead in the five-match multi-format series. The second and final T20 fixture will be played at the same venue on Tuesday.
