Durham spinners Nathan Sowter and George Drissell have signed new contracts.

Australian Sowter, 31, has signed a new two-year deal, while Drissell, 24, has extended his stay with the club until the end of the 2024 season.

Former Middlesex leg-spinner Sowter spent time on loan at Chester-le-Street in 2022 before signing a one-year deal last December.

He took a club-record 24 wickets in last season's T20 Blast.

Off-spinner Drissell joined Durham from Somerset in 2021.

"I am excited to extend my deal with Durham, I have loved every minute of my time with the club so far," Sowter told the club website., external

"With ambitions to keep improving in all formats across the club, it was a no brainer to commit for another two years. I can't wait to be a part of the club as we continue to progress."
