Glamorgan Women followed up their One-Day Cup victory against Gloucestershire Women with a dominant 33-run win against the same opposition in their inaugural Vitality T20 Women's County Cup match on Monday.

Batting first at Newport Cricket Club, Glamorgan posted 183-4 from their 20 overs, with Bea Ellis striking a fine 77 off just 41 balls while opener and skipper Lauren Parfitt anchored the innings with an unbeaten 59 off 52.

Despite an unbeaten knock of 46 off 37 by Isobel Patel, Gloucestershire steadily fell behind the required run rate in the face of some controlled home bowling and sharp fielding, subsiding to 150-5 from their 20 overs.

The T20 Women's County Cup features teams from all three tiers of the women's domestic structure, culminating with a Finals Day in Taunton.

Glamorgan now advance to face Sussex Sharks, who beat Buckinghamshire by 46 runs, in round two on Saturday, 10 May.

The winner of that game will then face fully professional outfit Lancashire Thunder in round three on Saturday, 17 May.
