Australia spinner Matt Kuhnemann has signed for Glamorgan to make a one-off appearance in their Championship game against Middlesex.

The 28 year-old left-armer will be one of their overseas players alongside Marnus Labuschagne, with both in the Australian Test squad preparing for the World Test Championship final against South Africa at Lord's in June.

Glamorgan's spin-bowling all-rounder Ben Kellaway, 21, is absent because of final exams at Cardiff University.

Sri Lankan seamer Asitha Fernando, who was signed for two months, is likely to have made his final Glamorgan appearance for the time being despite taking six wickets in the win over Northants in his best performance.

The 27-year-old has played in all six Championship games this season and is having his workload managed, with Kuhnemann, who has been training with the Glamorgan squad this week, stepping in for Friday's fixture.

Labuschagne will face South African pacer Dane Paterson, who has been playing for Middlesex and is also involved in the Test final.

Only two overseas players are allowed in each game, with Glamorgan resting South African batter Colin Ingram before the T20 Blast.

They have also signed Sydney Sixers all-rounder Hayden Kerr mainly for the T20 Blast, with the 28-year-old making his second eleven bow in this week's win against Warwickshire.

Glamorgan have risen to third in Division Two of the Championship after beating Kent and Northants, and are seeking three straight wins for the first time in nearly 10 years.

Tom Bevan could also come into the team for his first appearance of the season.
